Helloooooooooooo World!

So, I took a little hiatus from the internet... okay, a long hiatus.  But I'm BACK.  Like, for real.  Dailyboothing, tweeting... vlogging.  My new goal is going to be one video a week.  My ALL CAPS music video has over 400 views, which is really encouraging; plus, I used to like making videos.  Why not start back up again?

Outside of the internet, life has been good.  I am taking easier classes this year: biology, drawing, ASL, and a class about how families influence children.  At first I was nervous about having to understand science or draw a tree, but I think it's going to be just fine.

My family moved into an apartment!  I expected it to feel a lot more strange, but living here feels totally natural.  We have plenty of space, and the location is so perfect.

Blah, blah, blah.  None of the above really matters, right?  So let's focus.  What about my life right now is interesting to people?

.........

I'll get back to you.

Post has been deleted.

Why BEDA didn't work out.

One simple reason:  no feedback.  Without encouraging messages and comments from readers, reinforcing what I have to say, I have no real reason to blog about anything.  I've been blogging when I have something to write about, and that's all.  Not every day.  No no days at all.  Just when I have something to say.  As it should be.

Un-birthday countdown: 3 days.

Nails!

I have always loved painting, my nails--but not just painting them.  Flowers, flags, fireworks, zebra stripes, hearts; you name it, and it's been on my nails.  I love the challenge of figuring out how to do it, and I love the payoff of being able to carry my finished work around with me for days.

I've decided whenever I do my nails, I'm going to post it here for you all to see, and tell you how I did it :)

In honor of my un-birthday, I decided to do cupcakes:

I used CoverGirl Boundless Color in Fuchsia Fatale as the base, NYC In A New York Color Minute in East Village for the cupcake wrapper, and Wall Street for the frosting.  I used NYC in Taxi Yellow Creme for the lines on the wrapper, and Sinful Colors Professional in Snow Me White for the sprinkles.  My staple for projects like this is a big quilting needle; I used it for the yellow lines and the white sprinkles.  I just used the brush for the blue wrapper and pink frosting.  My tip for projects like this: GO SLOWLY.  It took me almost five hours to do this, and I definitely could have done a better job.  A slow, steady hand is an essential tool--especially for a right-hander like me trying to use her left!

Road Trippin'

So today, my brother, his girlfriend and I drove an hour an a half to our new apartment.  On the way there, we passed a ton of broken tires on the road.  Now, there are few things I am afraid of (actually, there are a lot of things I am afraid of--but that's not the point), but blown-up tires on the side of the highway really give me the heebie jeebies.  Before you go thinking I'm crazy, here me out.  What would YOU do if you were driving down the road, paying attention to the traffic around you and your speed and the radio, when all of the sudden, YOUR TIRE EXPLODES.  What do you do?  Stop?  Go?  Pull over?  Break?  Would the other three tires still work, or would I be too off-kilter to go anywhere?  They do NOT teach you what to do about that in driver's ed.  And when I see someone else's blown up tire, I think, did they drive over something sharp?  Is the sharp thing still here?  I WOULD NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO.  Gah.  I get nervous just thinking about it.

Enough of this conversation.
